3P Work Ethic: Present, Professional and Productive is an interactive professional development course that challenges employees to examine not only whether they show up for work, but how they show up and what they do once they get there.

It’s not enough to show up. How you show up is important, too.

The 3P framework looks at work ethic through three areas:

• Present is showing up. Are you dependable, punctual, prepared, engaged and accountable? Being present means that your coworkers and your organization can count on you.

• Productive is what you do when you show up. Are you completing quality work, taking initiative, using your time responsibly, contributing to the team and meeting the performance expectations of your position?

• Professional is how you show up. How do you communicate? How do you respond to feedback, stress and conflict? Do your attitude, conduct, integrity and interactions reflect the standards of your profession and organization?

Throughout the course, participants will examine the connection between work ethic, workplace standards and professional reputation. Every organization establishes standards for attendance, performance, quality, conduct and service. The 3P framework asks employees to consider whether their everyday behaviors consistently meet—and when possible exceed—those standards.

Through workplace scenarios, group discussion, self-assessment and reflection, participants will consider how their choices affect coworkers, operations and the people they serve. They will also examine the professional reputation they are building and identify specific behaviors they can strengthen.

The goal is not simply to create employees who come to work. It is to develop employees who show up, contribute when they get there, and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the standards of their organization and profession.
